Finding Traffic

Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing has 'sky-rocketed' over the last few years predominantly because of access to the internet. There have been other off-line affiliate type programs - very often multi-level marketing programs - that have been around for many years. We are just going to concern ourselves with on-line systems. An affiliate program is one where you promote someone else's product and receive an affiliate commission of the product is purchased.
Put simply - if we can promote a product which sells for $80 and we receive a 50% commission then we should receive $40 (less any administration costs). If we spent $30 promoting each sale then we'd have made a $10 profit. Sounds great but we probably have to payout for the promotion before we make the sale and we only know the results after a period of analysis. I'm using the following as an example rather than good statistical analysis. If after 10 days you've spent $300 in promotion and made 10 sales the on average you have made $10 per sale but you may have made 3 sales in the first day or 3 sales in the last day (I bet you would not have made one sale per day) - either of these circumstances would have distorted you're think. If on the other hand you spent $3,000 and got 100 sales then you would feel more confident about the results. If however you could reduce the $30 promotion to zero (yes zilch, nothing, $0) then I am sure you'd agree that's worth taking a look at!
Affiliate Marketing Products
If you're looking to start promoting affiliate products then there are many excellent place to look at:-
Clickbank - boasts a range of over 10,000 products all of which are delivered electronically. ShareAsale - hundreds of affiliate programs from a huge range of categories - i.e. vacations, health, insurance , finance etc Amazon - yes anything you see on Amazon can be sold via an affiliate program. This store is my configured 'Internet Marketing' Store.

Downloadable Products
Clickbank - enables you to promote products which are available electronically and therefore available 24 x 7 as soon as a customer completes a purchase via credit card or Paypal or similar.
Commission Earning
ShareAsale and Amazon - enable you to earn commission on products sold - from books and CDs to Cruise holidays and finance.
Finally another interesting way to generate affiliate income is by generating leads. Sounds obvious but unlike Adsense where you get paid for a click on this occasion an affiliate makes money when someone completes an on-line enquiry form. Leadpile has generated a great affiliate program for many different types of prospects. Just go to the Leadpile site and check out the many categories for which there are people seeking to purchase leads. |
